I was once again left wondering why the same high quality design and level of presentation on a site's tour wasn't replicated in the members' area. It happens again on AV33 with the tour area well designed and with a nice amount of information and so on. The members' area though was a real disappointment. Although you get immediate one click access to all of the bonus sites and extras, all of the content is presented together in one clump without separate video and photo sections, with no update information at all, and no description or information at all when you click any thumbnails. It could so easily be a lot better than this. They have a list of models and categorised content on the tour as well - why not when you log in as well?!
As a result, it's not hugely surprising that there were no .ZIP file downloads on any of the photo galleries but at least the photos themselves, sized at approximately 768x1152px most of the time, were pretty high quality. All videos are available to download either at full length or in shorter clips but only .WMV format is used on the site. The best quality videos played at 852x480px, but actually most videos on the site usually only played at 640x480px. It does tend to change across the site.
In total there were around 180 videos and 100 photo galleries on AV33.com at what I would say was a pretty accurate estimate. It looks to me as though they probably update pretty regularly, but with the presentation and navigation here not exactly doing a huge amount to impress me, the content was going to have to be good. No surprises that the content here is non-exclusive, but you would have expected that anyway, so how does their selection shape up?
They do cover some very popular and very watchable AV Idols in their archive. Kurumi Katase and Rika Hayama never fail to turn my head, but the selection of stars is certainly a very high quality one. I have to say that the presence of uncensored movies on the site is a really big plus point for this site - it's not terribly easy to get hold of uncensored Japanese hardcore action straight from the country itself, but they have managed it. And there are some great videos here too.
