MPEG Movie Heaven review

This site currently advertises a total of 850 DVDs on board right now, adding up to a total of 4284 scenes. The site adds three new DVDs every Friday. If you have seen a few of these on-demand video sites before then you should know what to expect from the navigation - and there is no real deviation from the norm here. But that's fine because it works really well here with some pretty full and comprehensive indexes for the studios, series, porn stars and genres covered by the site. Update information is just about fine, and overall there was little here that needed to be significantly improved on.

The main area that they can clearly improve on here is with regard to their video download options. There really are no size options on any of the videos and, obviously, they all download in .MPG format. But the fact that many of the videos only play at 352x288px is perhaps the most disappointing aspect to this site - this is just far too small a resolution for videos in this day and age. Download speeds, however, were really good and there were no DRM restrictions as promised.

There are so many video download sites like MPEGMovieHeaven.com around that it really is rather a bun-fight when it comes to choosing the best ones. And because they are so similar a lot of the time, even the most trifling can rule a site out of the running. But there are several issues here which ultimately dictate that site might not be a preferable choice to its competitors despite in many ways being a pretty good site.

The collection is not all that large compared to other sites, plus they probably don't update as much as some. Add this to the lack of quality in the video sizes and the general lack of video options, and it does fall quite a way behind. In its defence though, whilst they do cover the big studios in quite some detail, they also cover quite a lot of independent labels. As such, you get the chance to see some titles that you might not normally see.
