Porno Redux in-depth review
PornoRedux currently has 158 videos on board, with new videos added at least three times per week. There are no photo galleries or screenshot sets here - this is all about the videos! Initially the tour doesn't look too awe-inspiring but there are thumbnails of almost all the stars from the site with info about all the videos they individually star in. The video sample was a bit of a let down though.
The members' area is quite easy to use even if the design is lacking in a bit of colour and imagination. There is a full and dated listed of all the videos on the site or, if you choose to browse it all by the name of the stars instead, you can do that too. Otherwise, none of the videos really have any descriptions with them and none of the stars have much in the way of biographical information about them either.
The video options were reasonable. All videos can be downloaded in .WMV files either in full downloads or clips. Whichever you choose, they will play at 640x480px. You can also to stream them in Flash Player format, and you can choose to watch them at 320x240px or 640x480px if you wish.
PornoRedux.com is a site that is quite keen to set itself apart from the vast majority of retro sites out there. By focusing on the 1990s, some might argue that 'retro' isn't quite the word to describe the videos that the site has on offer. Whatever the word may be, this is still a good idea and a well-executed site as it turns out. I have to say it's a relief not to have to see too much of Ron Jeremy for a change! Nothing against him, but the facial hair starts to look terrifying after a while!
With Asia Carrera, Jill Kelly and Jessica Drake amongst the porn stars here, and arguably from when they were at the pinnacle of their careers, you certainly get top quality adult actresses. The actual quality of the film has stood up quite well here - porn stock notoriously ages badly but that is seemingly not the case here. The action is mainly hardcore right now, something that hopefully will be attended to over time.
