The immediately good impression that Ten.com gives off is no doubt down to an excellent free tour. You can access information about all of the DVDs, scenes, stars and studios that play a part in the site from this tour, allowing you to pull together the full picture about a site. There are trailers courtesy of a constantly streaming video that cycles through many trailers randomly.
The site currently contains 1092 full length DVDs as well as, surprisingly to me, 101 sets of photo galleries that are snaps taken from some of the site's movies. I'm not sure how often these are added to, but there are 4 new videos added every day. The navigation was okay here but categories, models and studio indexes should have been immediately accessible from the top bar on every page. As it is, it's unnecessarily fiddly.
There aren't as many viewing options on the videos as I was expecting. All of the videos could be streamed and downloaded but in .WMV format only, with the latest videos having low (352x240px), medium (640x480px at 1mbps) and high resolution (640x480px at 1.5mbps) options. The site no longer had DRM restrictions on its videos.
The world, of course, is not short of VOD sites. In fact, I'm amazed that people even go out and buy adult DVDs any more, especially if they have internet access! Ten.com is the latest video download site that I've seen and on some positive and negative levels, it isn't by any means exactly the same as so many of them out there. For a start, this site seems to be completely hardcore driven, which is a departure for this type of site. There are no solo, masturbation or lesbian categories, and no gay or transsexual categories for that matter. Non-straight hardcore fans need not apply, in other words!
Restricting themselves to hardcore alone does not restrict them in the studios and stars they give you access to though. I was especially happy to see Ninn Worx provide many of the titles on their site, they are possibly my favourite American studio at the moment. But with New Sensations, Adam & Eve, Coast To Coast and many more on board, as well as all the big stars you would expect, this is consistently high quality stuff.
