The Classic Porn in-depth review
1820 videos / movies, over 11,500 photos and a total of 6700+ stars are currently listed on the site, which in turn is updated every day. The presentation and organisation of the members' area (although you can also see many of its features on the site's free tour as well) here was excellent. Most videos come with a full list of their stars and behind the camera talent as well as the year in which they were produced in. There are good descriptions of most of the videos, but probably the best aspect of the site was the index of the stars as this usually includes biographies for each of the stars. Just so much attention to detail here, perfect for anybody interested in retro porn,
The video options, however, don't really come close to living up to the general quality of the navigation. They amount to full length in-browser Flash / .FLV streams and downloads only, and although the download speeds were good though (with most videos playing at 640x480px for the most part), I was expecting better. All photo galleries are available in .ZIP file downloads but as expected the photo sizes varied quite a lot across the site.
Even before you get down to what TheClassicPorn.com can offer you retro porn fans, you realise that, actually, it could be quite an important site. With more and more old (and sometimes newer) porn titles dropping off the face of the Earth with each passing day for one reason or another, a site that not only preserves its own discoveries but also encourages members to send videos and galleries in that they have found should be applauded and, indeed, protected.
Pieces of artwork and media that disappear or are made obsolete are bugbears of mine (don't get me started on this subject!) and that is why a site like this will always find favour with me. Indeed, as a result, this is far more than just a collection of 'old porn' - it's almost detailed and committed enough to its subject to be considered an online retro porn museum. That's how good it is. But even if you don't care about any of this and really do just want some 'old porn' this site will absolutely not let you down.
