The first thing I noticed about this wonderful vintage website is the lack of a content management system. That tells me that the owner and webmaster of this site really dig the vintage pictures and wanted to create something special that he could lay his hands on. I like this type of site; it is fresh and appealing, so different from the mega sites that you find out there today.

You will find that each section has a great graphic icon that typifies that section. You can also move through the site by using the left hand navigation link system.

The categories include different decades, illustrations, links, funnies, movies, magazines, native girls, French postcards, contact and even an FAQ page. That’s only the beginning. When you choose a category then you are even more classic choices. The entire site is very straight forward so you won’t miss a thing and you can take your time enjoying what nature gave us back in the day.

I decided to check out the babes from the 50’s. I love pinup girls and wanted to see if this site held some of my favs. I clicked on 1940-1950 and then on cheesecake. I was shocked to see that even this has even more pages of pics. This site has thousands of amazing older vintage photos from the past! The pictures are all thumb-nailed at a decent size so you can see the ancient cutie before clicking on the pic. When you click on the pic it opens in a new window so you can’t lose your spot. The pictures are all a good 550x 700 and bigger. You will definitely feel like you had a trip to the past checking out all these lovely babes.

The one critique I had with Vintage Taboo was in the movie section. These are all in quick-time and not everyone has quick-time anymore. I’d like to see a wmv or mpeg format as well. These aren’t clips either. These are the full movies. There are over 200 movies and they come in a variety of sizes. The only thing they have in common is that they are vintage and great to watch if you’re a classics fan like myself.
