X-rated Classics in-depth review
Although you probably won't be able to find many trailers on the tour pages of X-RatedClassics, the tour was a good one as it introduced you to many of the titles that are featured on the site, and some of the legends too. At the time of this review, the site had a fantastic 802 video scenes (136 DVDs) and 234 photo galleries to offer up. It's a retro overload!
The members' area navigation was quite clever in that you could leaf through the content either via scenes or via the movie they appeared in. There was also a good index dedicated to all the stars that appear here too, while all of the scenes and the galleries are dated as well. These tell us that we get 5 new scenes a week but there haven't been any new galleries since the start of April.
The videos here are available to stream and download in .WMV format only, using the same resolution on each version. You can either play or download them at 320x240px or 640x480px. The photo galleries are all available in .ZIP download files as well and in terms of the individual pictures themselves, these are usually sized at 1440x1080px (for the larger watermarked pictures) and 1024x768px (non-watermarked).
On the subject of the photo galleries, time has told on these rather more noticeably than it has on the videos. Some of these galleries are really pretty grainy now and really pretty hard to look at. However, they are still a pretty important part of X-RatedClassics.com. This shouldn't just be seen as another place to download Deep Throat and Debbie Does Dallas at - after all, you don't see that many pay sites that give you the chance to catch photographic footage of old porn stars.
Despite that, the amount of videos that they have collected (and are still collecting) on this site is amazing. Covering performers from the trailblazing Linda Lovelace to the beginnings of the careers of more recent megastars like Jenna Jameson and Lexington Steele, this is a fascinating journey through porn when hair was bigger - both upstairs and downstairs! Even the 7 bonus sites all cover retro themes as well. It's a great package.
